In early January there was a very welcome but completely unexpected announcement - I was named Instrumentalist of the Year by UK folk magazine FATEA, in their awards for best of 2023. Whoop! it makes me feel very honoured, and genuinely touched, and ultimately it’s fantastic to have such a strong note of support - so thank you FATEA, and all who sail with you! Very much appreciated :-)

The Quarterdays Tunebook is back from the printers and ready in time for its launch at the Celtic Connections concert on February 2nd. The book contains the music for all 59 tunes in the series, as well as research notes on the Quarterdays themselves and photos of the musicians involved. The tunes are marked up for fiddle players and with chords contributed by the duo partners (many thanks again Aaron, Wendy, Ruth and Phil!).
The book is available for £21 including postage in the UK at the PayPal button here:
